Nature offers many examples of specialization and collaboration. Ant colonies and bee hives are but two examples of nature’s sophisticated organizations. As specialists in the collection, access, and application of data, nurse informaticists collaborate with specialists on a regular basis to ensure that appropriate data is available to make decisions and take actions to ensure the general well-being of patients.

Week 3 Discussion: Interaction Between Nurse Informaticists and Other Specialists
Description of experiences or observations about how nurse informaticists and/or data or technology specialists interact with other professionals within your healthcare organization.
Nurse informatics have a unique and close relationship with other professionals within the health care organization. Nurse informaticists can be considered as data specialists who are concerned with making sense of the large data. They collect the large data, eliminate they extraneous sections and identify the useful sections. In addition, they determine the relevant data to be collected. Besides that, they applying statistical analysis on the collected data to determine trends. However, nurse informaticists can only be considered as data managers who make sense of the data collected by others and translate it into useful information to be used by others. The relationship between nurse informaticists and other professionals is apparent in the information management scheme. In this case, other professionals are concerned with collecting the useful information through interactions with other stakeholders such as patients and medical personnel. They collect the data as they conduct their professional duties. For that matter, other professions provide raw data to nurse informaticists. Also, the other professionals make use of the results of the information analysis provided by nurse informaticists. They use the results of the information analysis to design new systems and professional approaches targeted at achieving the desired health care objectives. For instance, if the results of data analysis show that handwashing reducing incidences of hospital acquired infection, then medical personnel can act on the information to design new care approaches that reduce incidences of hospital acquired infection (Houston et al., 2018).

A strategy for improving the interactions is to leverage information technologies such as electronic health records (EHR) system to present protocols that improve the speed at which data collection and analysis are conducted, as well as results being presented. Information technologies reduce opportunities for direct interactions thereby reducing opportunities for conflicts. In addition, they allow for fast and more accurate data management. Also, these technologies can have algorithms that automatically conduct data analysis so that current information is always available at any given time. Besides that, they improve communication efforts since each user simply needs to have access to the system in order to acquire the required information. Additionally, they have large data storage capacities that can be used to explore performance trends (Houston et al., 2018). The impact you believe the continued evolution of nursing informatics as a specialty and/or the continued emergence of new technologies might have on professional interactions.
The continued evolution of nursing informatics as a specialty is likely to improve professional interactions. This would occur by identifying the useful information and ensuring that the right information is available to the right person at the right place and time for use to improve care outcomes. In continued emergence of new technologies would reduce opportunities for interactions. This would occur through improved data management interfaces so that each profession knows what to do when handling data in terms of what information to present and how to use the results of the data analysis. They would use these new technologies as communication mediums thereby requiring less time to be spent on meetings on how to manage health information (Mastrian & McGonigle, 2017).
