Care Plan Assignment Discussion Paper
What precautions will you take to prevent this patient from obtaining a nosocomial infection?
As a nurse, I would first implement basic precautions in the patient’s care plan for healthcare providers and visitors. This will entail washing hands prior to entering or leaving the patient’s space (Fry, 2013). Another precaution would be to ensure that sterile procedures are used to clean the patient’s Penrose drain using the right procedure (Fry, 2013). Additionally, it would be necessary to raise the patient’s head of the bed in a semi-Fowler position to support her airway Care Plan Assignment Discussion Paper.
