Further, the use of technology has been exploited in the improvement of various components of the health care system including in managing patient data and reducing medical errors. While these improvements have led to a number is positive impacts in the healthcare industry, concerns regarding the safety of patient data have been raised (Newbold, 2017). Recent embracement of telemedicine, which involves the use of smartphone, tablets and computers to bring services to the convenience of the patients’ home, has been successful. This advancement has created a space where patients and physicians can collaborate to find solutions to medical issues through consultation and follow-ups (American Nurses Association, 2015).
