Determination For Working In Health profession
My determination for working in the healthcare profession rooted, ever since my brother was born, in November 2017 and later emitted to the neonatal unit. I gained a passion for working in the healthcare sector, after seeing what a big positive impact healthcare professionals no matter their role from radiographers to doctors have on patients and how rewarding it can be, encouraged me to go into the healthcare sector. Going to the hospital every day for 2 weeks and me being nosy observing the professionals daily work helped me get a slight insight into their daily lives working in the hospital. From the upbeat, unexpected and demanding lifestyle of the healthcare professionals I knew it was the one for me as I love to be kept busy. And there is a bonus is it is a very rewarding job. Working in a public sector where interaction between different people is regular understanding different cultures is crucial as it provides a good basis of interaction and understanding between patients which is vital. At GCSE I also undertook a language which was Urdu this has enabled me to gain skills to interact with patients who may not know English but are familiar with Urdu more openly. Alongside that the skills module in geography as well as doing my NEA have both helped me to understand data analysis and data presentation. By doing my NEA I have gained valuable skills on how to effectively present my data in different forms. In order to do my NEA I had to go on a 3 day residential where teamwork was a vital part in order to get our data collected and time management was crucial as we had only 3 days to collate all our data. The residential has enabled me to work successfully as a team as well as effectively managing my time. Alongside my two main subjects in year 12, I did level three mathematical studies (core math’s). Core math’s has enabled me to gain crucial skills, such as critically thinking and analyzing data which would be used day to day at university and at work. I have gotten a one day observational placement organized for radiology in October in a local hospital. This is to help me get an insight into the daily life in the radiology department.Determination For Working In Health Profession
In July 2016 I undertook two weeks of work experience in a nursery which helped me to build communication skills with children and how to effectively work with them understanding their mentality. This opportunity helped me gain many valuable skills which could be put to great use in the healthcare profession as it being an unpredicted profession you’re not aware whether your next patient is going to be a child or elderly.
During year 11 I was the student leader of the school council. This meant I had huge responsibility over the students and being able to communicate their voices to the school leadership. I devoted my spare time during school helping out younger years overcome social problems. From this experience I have learnt to manage my time effectively which is crucial working in the healthcare sector in order to keep on top of everything and ensure the hospital is kept running smoothly. In my spare time I enjoy watching science documentaries covering different aspects of science such as ‘the truth about sugar’, ‘ambulance’ and ‘an hour to save your life’. I also love baking it seems to calm me down when I feeling stressed. I post my bakes on my Instagram page and during the summer holidays when studies are not a priority I like to take on some orders.
