The Case study is of a 50 year old male complaining of low libido and urinary frequency. Based on the symptoms, the patient will be co- diagnosed with erectile dysfunction and lower tract urinary symptoms. The approach to be used is to assess the patient so as to identify the aspects that could that have contributed or are associated with the complaints (De Nunzio et al., 2017). The healthcare provider should an appropriate evaluation including the medical, sexual and psychosocial history focusing on the lab tests, physical examination and any consultations with a medical expert.  The lifestyle habit of the patient should also be reviewed.Week 7 Discussion Assignment

The specific actions that should be done include the nurses paying attention to the presence critical underlying or comorbidities etiologies including depression or diabetes (Roehrborn et al., 2016). This is because erectile dysfunction could be a warning signal of cardiovascular illnesses because it can be an initial manifestation of peripheral vascular and coronary artery conditions.

The reason for co-diagnosing lower urinary tract symptoms and erectile dysfunction is because of the symptoms shown by the patient. Erectile dysfunction is described by the patient’s lower libido while lower tract urinary infection is shown by urinary frequency. The need for co- diagnosis is because of the link between the two diseases (Roehrborn et al., 2016). Most epidemiological research studies have shown the co- existence of erectile dysfunction and the lower tract urinary symptoms. The severity of both conditions is based on the patient’s age. Other contributing factors include prolonged inflammation and the imbalance of sex steroid ratio.
