Ethics and Childhood Vaccination Policy Essay Example Paper
Lab Assignment
Scenario 1: The parents of a 5-year-old boy have accompanied their son for his required physical examination before starting kindergarten. His parents are opposed to him receiving any vaccines. Refusal or unwillingness to vaccinate children is a growing concern.
That specific kid is about to enter kindergarten at the age of 5. I would therefore ask the parents why they do not want their kid vaccinated. A series of researches have demonstrated that reasons for refusing vaccination may vary considerably, but that they usually come into four categories: religious reasons, personal views or philosophical ideas, safety considerations, and a drive to pursue more knowledge (McKee & Bohannon, 2016). I will be able to effectively educate them when I first grasp their reasons for rejecting a vaccination. Education plays a crucial role in providing parents with the knowledge they need to make informed choices about immunizing their children (McKee & Bohannon, 2016) Ethics and Childhood Vaccination Policy Essay Example Paper.

If they have any misconceptions regarding vaccines, this would be an excellent chance to debunk them. It is common for people to refuse vaccinations because they have received incorrect information or because they do not comprehend the safety and effectiveness of the vaccinations (Hendrix et. al., 2016). Additionally, most parents do not understand how vaccinations function, nor do they have access to reliable information that explains the procedure’s significance (Hussain et. al., 2018). It is critical to assist parents in building confidence in healthcare providers and authorities in order to fight the anti-vaccination trend by enlightening them about the statistics and facts, dispelling the misconceptions propagated by anti-vaccination campaigns.
Immunization regulations for children starting school must be discussed at the local and state levels, as well as nationally. A non-medical cause may prevent the kid from attending public school in West Virginia because state law does not provide for such exemptions (West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, n.d) Ethics and Childhood Vaccination Policy Essay Example Paper.
