History of Global Health Research Paper

History of Global Health course offered by Professor Adam Warren is not only the course of interest to me but also is value for those who would like to change the future of global health. This course considers how a historical approach may help experts address complex political and ethical concerns within the global health movement. (“Global Health History”, (n.d.).History of Global Health Research Paper

The course provides me with an understanding of the complex historical origins of the modern global health movement.  It helps me to think over its roots in practices of colonialism and empire-building, the rise of international commerce and industrial capitalism, the development of international philanthropy, and efforts to secure and protect national borders during epidemics and other public health and humanitarian crises. I have never conceived over that efforts to improve global health have a long and tumultuous history. The new for me was a macro-level understanding of this history through a brief outline of global health efforts. This course traces global health efforts through the therapeutic revolution, eradication campaigns, the primary health care movement, and the development movement.  Several themes emerge in this course, such as the role of bureaucracies, the attitude of ethnocentricity, and the tension between medicine and public health. (“New Course,” 2013).  More clinical resources available for student experiences and good financial support from academic institutions to operate a comparatively expensive nursing program will change the way me perceive nursing.History of Global Health Research Paper

The goal of this course is to provide an understanding of past efforts in order to develop a framework for future ones. The key to progressive movement is to correct the mistakes did in the past; take care of our health with the goal of a better future.
