The view of HPV vaccines is similar in both the authors as they oppose the view of usage of HPV vaccines, although the reasons are different. The two primary sources used for this paper is 1) the study conducted by Mishra and Graham (2011) in their article “Risk, choice and the ‘girl vaccine’: Unpacking human papillomavirus (HPV) immunisation” and 2) is the study conducted by Colgrove (2006) in his article “Immunity for the People: The Challenge of Achieving High Vaccine Coverage in American History”. Mishra and Graham (2011) main claims in the article include a lot of opposition on the HPV vaccines. The external factors related to the population health knowledge and techniques are highly correlated with the state power that it exercise over the citizens. The state by enforcing the certain techniques and knowledge can greatly enforce the citizens. According to the author the approaches to HPV immunistaion is drawn on the basis and approaches of disciplinary technologies and governmentally. HPV immunization is highly significant in science studies approach for the surveillance and control of bodily risks. The article mentions that the HPV immunization is insignificantly correlated with the people’s engagements in risk reduction of products because it interrogates the individuals in the form of questioning their own beliefs and sexualities, their own bodies and of their own children.
