Research and Evidence-Based Practice
Researchers are trying to generate new information or verify existing statements. It recognizes holes in the different study samples, raises questions about these gaps, and prepares a theory to address those questions. These theories are checked through a critical analysis (Groove & Gray, 2018). The study describes of the design of the research, the compilation of data and the review of the data to be based on.
Evidence-based practices accumulate evidence from the study and address specific questions to test this evidence. After the evaluation, which involves the determination of the quality of the data, the data is used in therapeutic settings (Groove & Gray, 2018). The effect of the data on the outcome of treatment is reported and the results are disseminated. Evidence-based treatment uses the PICOT approach (problem, intervention, comparison, outcome, time) and research follows the scientific principles of systematic research.Research and Evidence-Based Practice

A research aims at generating new expertise questions, the existing gaps and tests the theory, while an EBP research project includes the evaluation of the evidence generated from the analysis (Keib et al., 2017). The research information development project includes the preparation of an analysis, the hypotheses testing and the review of results, whilst the EB intervention project include the comprehensive quest for evidence, the examination of evidence and the incorporation of research, patient expectations and the advancement of clinical skills. Example of research question include; “Will the literature review reflect a knowledge deficit in the treatment of blood pressure?. EBP question examples include “according to available data, is automated blood pressure assessment more reliable than manual blood pressure measurement?”
