Schizophrenia from Patient Point of View Discussion Paper
Back in 2015, a male patient called Quan was 27 years old, studying and working in a casino. Quan had a cheerful, bubbly demeanor, and loved music and fashion. Quan started to hear voices and having paranoid thoughts towards the end of 2016. These are positive symptoms since some individuals have more mental encounters than other individuals as compared to a normal mental status (Preda, 2018). Positive symptoms are those that are excessive to typical mental abilities (Preda, 2018).In 2017, Quan was admitted to the hospital, and the physicians thought he had a mood disorder like major depression, and many medications were provided. After he went home from the hospital he did stop taking the medication and his symptoms disappeared (Tanara & Derrow, 2018)Schizophrenia from Patient Point of View Discussion Paper.

In 2018, Quan’s symptoms came back, and he visited the mental facility. Since he did not disclose that he heard voices and had paranoid feelings he was once again treated for a mood disorder, as the healthcare providers thought he was having manic episodes. Quan had encountered a twitching episode and withdrew taking his drugs once more. He had a fight with a friend in November 2018 and was taken to prison and later instructed to a mention mental institution, and he eventually revealed things to his therapist. He got injections of a different medication and his symptoms became manageable (Tanara & Derrow, 2018) Schizophrenia from Patient Point of View Discussion Paper.
If I were Quan, due to the circumstances I was in, I would tell my doctor things. It could a long time to fully reveal everything, however I would likely state sufficient to where the doctor would have the ability to know what was going on.
