A leader I have seen use transformational leadership skills is my nurse manager. She is mainly responsible for supervising the nursing staff. This responsibility includes roles in overseeing patient care, making budgetary and management decisions, making decisions about personnel, coordinating meetings, and setting work schedules. This leadership style has especially been helpful in addressing nurse staff shortages. There is an awareness that the unit has a nurse staff shortage. As such, nurses are typically overworked with busy work schedules. In setting up busy work schedules for the nurse, the nurse manager expects that the nurses will do all that they can to fulfil their professional responsibilities.
